Lawns, landscaped gardens and playgrounds surround the building, which houses modern classrooms and state-of-the-art laboratories. Terrace gardens and an atrium provide a welcoming and stimulating environment for learning. Colour, space and light combine to enhance the rooms, the corridors and the labs. From the entrance to the building, each inch is a reflection of the school's aspiration to provide a sound base from which students will rise to great heights.
The laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and the specialist teaching rooms for Social Science, Languages, Computer Studies, and Mathematics are equipped in accordance with the specifications of national and international examination boards. The science Lab houses desktops and laptops aiding the study of Science and Robotics.
The Learning Centre is central to each student's academic progress. In it we have shelf space for some 40,000 books, with already a rich collection. In addition, students have access to periodicals and audio-visual resources and highspeed Internet. The Library is equipped with desktops for reading, reference and research requirement of senior students. The library also supports the archiving of the school's various learning resources and records.
The school has a multi-purpose space for Performing Arts. Fitted with a state-of the art sound system and over theatre lights, the space is the focal point for performing arts within the school. The lighting is used by students for the new drama courses within the school. The venue is also used for presentations, meetings, rehearsals and assemblies. The students really enjoy using the room, especially the lights, which add an extra layer of excitement for all the classes.
The Art Room presents opportunities for developing varied artistic interests including clay modelling, painting, drawing, pottery and craft. The Indian Music Room is equipped with a wide range of musical instruments for learning Hindustani Music, while the Western Music Room has a number of traditional and modern musical instruments providing children with a variety of learning experiences in music.
The school places great importance on the health and safety of students. Suitably qualified nursing staff keeps the medical centre open throughout the school day, while the school doctor is available two days in a week and for any emergency. In its modern and child-friendly setting, the medical centre maintains high standards of hygiene and a well-documented system of students' health records. The medical staff arranges for routine medical treatment as well as health promotion activities such as an annual check-up, and dental and ophthalmologic camps.
BSIS offers a variety of sporting activities aimed to improve the health and fitness of our students, nurture individual talents, whilst enabling them to enjoy the recreational benefits it offers. Exposure to individual and team skills through competitive sports inculcates a sense of sportsmanship, a school-wide community spirit and a feeling of individual accomplishment amongst students. Trust, commitment, self-discipline, honesty, respect for the opponent and most importantly, grace and stoicism, whether you win or lose, is at the heart of all sports lessons at BSIS.
On our facility we offer Athletics, Swimming, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Tennis, Judo, Taekwondo, Chess, Volleyball, Throwball and Athletics.
The playground includes a grass pitch, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, providing opportunity for a range of outdoor sports. The school campus also has 2 small playgrounds for preschoolers and for the primary classes. There is also a within the school campus.
Students who show strong aptitude in certain select sports are provided the opportunity to further focus and build on their competency with the provision of extra training and exposure to competitions.
The School sports facilities include a football field, indoor Badminton Courts, Judo and Taekwondo training space, a Volleyball Court, Basketball Courts, Lawn Tennis Courts, and Athletics facility.
Inter-house and inter-school competitions organised by students for Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Cricket, Tennis, Table Tennis, Football and Swimming.
